I can only say that the previous reviewer must be from a parallel universe. This is a very pleasant place to stay. Yes this is no "IN" town: so? It is a very short drive up to Monticello and the Michie Tavern. Ashland is a short distance further. The sites are large, albeit some have a steep approach, this is a mountainous area. The nature trail is nice. The managers at the camp were very pleasant. There is no cable TV, but TV is not why we go camping. You can get a few channels on an antenna. Our cell service was good (Nextel). We would stay here again should we find ourselves in this area on another trip.

We reserved here about a month in advance. We were told then that we would have to move after our first night. This wasn't the best news, however this would gain us a day, we thought. Check out is 12 noon, the site we needed to move to was not vacated until 12:30. This meant that we were essentially in limbo from around 11am when we broke down our site until the people on the other site finally left. If the future I will not accept this, instead I will go to a different CG. That said, the CG has wide roads, generally level sites, activities, a fishing pond and a swimming pond as well as a large pool. It also has a nice mini-golf course, a basketball court, shuffle board and pentaque. The store while small is reasonably well stocked and you are in close proximity to stores. There are a large number of Seasonals here. Many in 'Park Models'. Personally I would prefer fewer of these as it causes a CG to look more like a trailer park than a CG. I understand that this is a business and that the Seasonal is a guaranteed cash flow as opposed to the transient population, but it would be nice to try and keep the CG atmosphere more in the forefront. If we had not been required to move and if this CG was a bit further south we would have rated it higher.

We have stayed here three times this year starting Memorial Day Weekend. Our sites were all large enough with two being quite nice. We don't use much in the way of facilities on weekend trips, but my daughter loves the pool. They do have activities every weekend, candy bar bingo, flea markets, dances and the like. Free wi-fi is a real plus for me. We will return here again.

A very nice place to stay. Close enough to all the attractions, but far enough out that you are not inundated with traffic. Our site was on the "Plateau". The site was wide and level with gravel covering most of the site. Fire wood was available at a very fair price. The view off the ridge is fantastic. There are also sites in the woods. The pool was warm and clean. The playground is a bit dated, but the kids all seemed to like it just fine. The Miniature Golf Course looked to be in good condition as did the horseshoe pits. This is not a "Resort" but rather a very nice campground, It is not pretending to be something it is not. We will definitely be back next season and maybe even again later this year.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would have rated this CG a 9 if a few minor things were different. The site we had was difficult to get into, and once in it was found to be a little less level than I like. This is an older CG and in truth, I hope to see more just like it. Clean, well kept. If they level the sites a bit they will be great. I don't care if they have Wi-Fi or Cable. I personally go camping to camp. I am not looking for concrete pads, built in barbecues, or other items.

This is a very nice campground. It is far enough out, but close enough in. It is long and narrow as opposed to square like many damps, this is perhaps the only drawback. It is over a mile long! Our site was level. Each site is separated from the next by a few trees and some boulders. It was large enough to park our jeep at either end without crowding our rig. The only drawback, and it was our fault, was not checking the area schedule. We wound up visiting during Bike Week. People were OK, but the bikes are just too noisy for me. About the only other down is a $10 a day charge for the water slide. We would definitely return in the future.

This is a very pleasant place to spend a week. It is near enough to attractions and yet not in the center. We spent the 4th here. o fault of the CG, it RAINED. We did get in some fishing in their stocked pond. The water slide, Mini-gold and paddle boats are available for a $16.00 charge for length of stay (2 weeks?) WiFi was spotty and slow. Also my cell signal was non-existent in the CG. Not the worst thing in the world. Very friendly staff. They actually pick up the ash from spots where a fire-ring was. Our had to be moved and we were genuinely surprised when they cleaned up the old spot (actually two from previous campers) We will return if in the area

We stayed here only because they did not require a week stay. The site we were assigned was so out of level we could not get our rig level. They were accommodating in that we could move around till we found one that worked for us. They had considerable empty sites! We wound up backed up to the road, very noisy traffic. Across from our site was an area that apparently had many stationary units in the past and was in the process (maybe) of being reclaimed for regular sites. We did take their 'hay ride' through the grounds, It is a very large place, but there are too many people that have made this their home. I honestly believe that some people have no where else. We will not return
